Our team has the expertise to reduce the strain of working in office environments and laboratory settings. The dynamic consultants at EK Ergonomics hold degrees in ergonomics, occupational therapy, physical therapy, chiropractic, physical education, massage therapy, and instructional design and facilitation.
As medical professionals, we translate our knowledge of injury mechanisms into preventative measures. We bring enthusiasm about ergonomics, injury prevention practices and healthy work styles to your company. By providing optimal work environments and educated employees, we help businesses increase profitability and reduce injury-related costs.
Back in the Netherlands, Ellen joined a progressive start up at the beginning of her career, called de Rug Adviescentrum, where she directed the implementation, managing and marketing of all return-to-work programs. This clinic developed into a multi-million dollar company, due to its highly successful strategies which returned people to work and saved money for businesses.
Upon her emigration to the US in 1995, she started as an Occupational Therapist/Ergonomic Specialist for California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and provided all ergonomic assessments and training in the hospital, offices, laboratories and patients care settings. She also facilitated RSI treatment, Biofeedback and stress management training.
Desiring a more preventative approach, Ellen left her clinical practice and began consultation for businesses and developed ergonomic programs for a variety of large corporations in the San Francisco Bay area, including AOL Time Warner, Nokia, VeriSign and Applied Biosystems.
In addition, Ellen is a Certified Performance Consultant and Master Trainer, which allows her to help you analyze your current ergonomic performance and redirect your efforts as needed to benefit your organization with improved results.
Over the years Ms. Kloosterman has become a dynamic seminar facilitator and sought after speaker. Her career is built on a unique blend of European and North American work experience.
Stephanie, aka "Stevie", spent over 10 years as a chiropractor before joining us here at EK Ergonomics. In addition to being a Certified Industrial Ergonomist, her experience as a chiropractor gives her a depth of knowledge and experience helping others learn how to implement proper ergonomic practices.
Besides helping others learn how to work more comfortably, "Stevie" can tell you just about everything you want to know about boats, sailing, and why being and living on the water is better than, well, just about anything.
During her chiropractic training, Sandra recognized the need to not only address the symptoms but also the causes of her patients’ physical problems. She has been teaching body mechanics, injury prevention, energy conservation and preventive care in clinical settings. Sandra offers practical methods for achieving safety, productivity, efficiency, and optimal health on the job. She is detail oriented and inspiring. Off the job Sandra loves hiking and can be found on trails in the Bay area on early Sunday mornings.

Naveed got his start in web development by coding his own GeoSites layouts back when it was cool. Shortly thereafter he began building his own websites. Naveed specializes in module development and theming, but switches things up with occasional design work. When he is not attached to his computer, he enjoys social media, fixing things, and trying to be a sports fan.
